Pastor David Vaughn, Pastor A.Jenkins,
Pastor Robert Hughes.
A series of special meetings were held to mark the opening of the church and the guest speaker was Teddy Howells.
It is fitting to mention Pastor Robert Hughes (now retired) from the Directorate of 'Teen Challenge UK' who was at that time the Superintendent Pastor of the Rhondda and Pontypridd Churches of the Apostolic Church.
Pastor Hughes was a master joiner par-excellence and was an exceptionally gifted person and it was he that was the outstanding Leader that pursued the realisation and helped bring to pass this Christian Centre, with the support and involvement of the small company previously mentioned.

Outreaches
Outreaches were instituted across the age-spectrum (from toddler to senior citizen) and a vested relationship was established with Teen Challenge UK a drug and rehabilitation Organisation which has it's H.Q. in Crosshands, West Wales

Other Churches
Excellent relationships were developed with other Evangelical Churches within the Rhondda Valley.
It was during the course of a Special Seminar held at the Trealaw Centre that the Fraternal known as R.E.A.C.H.(Rhondda Evangelical Associating Churches) came to birth and this still remains to the present day.

International Outreaches

Ghattas.JPG (162118 bytes)International outreaches were also established in particular with two Orphanages in-
Beirut, Lebanon. Also in Central Africa and South Africa etc.
In those early years a remarkable feature was one lad from Beirut , Ghattas Najm who was at that time only thirteen years old, attended Trealaw Centre and with special permission from the Apostolic Church was Baptised in water by Pastor Andrew Jenkins and granted honouree membership of Trealaw Church. This was prior to his departure for Beirut, and at that time was given a civic reception by the Mayor of the Rhondda Valley, and presented with an inscribed miner's lamp at a farewell supper held at the Centre. He is today a Chef, at a prestigious London Hotel.
The Photograph is of Ghattas having just been informed of his imminent departure
